Altra Men's Kayenta Shoe - 2021
Meet the Kayenta, the newest addition to Altra's road lineup. Whether you're a triathlete, road runner or simply love the lightweight ride, this performance shoe is for you. It features a 2-layer upper construction that is adaptable to many foot shapes and volumes, while the strategic rubber pods on the outsole make it durable, and the Max-LT midsole gives a responsive feel.
- Max-LT - Lightweight performance midsole foam with a firm, yet responsive feel underfoot.
- FootShape - Traditional running shoes feature pointy toe boxes that squeeze the toes out of their natural position - increasing risk of bunions, hammertoes and plantar fasciitis. Altra's FootShape toe box allows the toes to relax and spread out naturally and the big toe to remain in a straight position. This reduces over-pronation, enhances stability and creates a powerful toe-off to maximize running performance.
- FootPod Technology - An outsole technology that actually maps the bones and tendons of your foot to help it bend and move naturally.
- Stack Height: 23mm
- Weight: 5.9 oz.
Had been running in Altras for 1 year now. With Altra Solstice discontinued, started looking for another model that would provide similar comfort, have similar weight and stack height. Kayenta seemed like a good candidate. The shoe is very comfortable, with a softer sole than Solstice. I have only tried the shoes in the house, plan to take them for a run tomorrow. One thing that surprized me was that Kayenta is noticeably shorter than Solstice or Escalante of the same size 12.5. I expected a better consistency of Altra's shoe size scale across different models.
