The Apex Float wetsuit is the wetsuit with the highest buoyancy in the Orca range. This wetsuit incorporates specific technologies for maximum buoyancy and correction of technique, helping swimmers who need support in order to maintain a hydrodynamic position in open water. It also incorporates highly elastic materials in the upper body, allowing for unrestricted swim strokes.
Composition of Neoprene:
- 40 PF+ - Together, the Power-fit compressive lining and Yamamoto 40 technology from Orca’s high-end range provide a perfect fit in the torso and prevent water from flowing through the wetsuit. The Nano Ice SCS surface coating improves hydrodynamics, reducing water resistance and allowing the open water swimmer to reach top speed with each stroke.
- 40 + - Orca’s high-end wetsuit range incorporates Yamamoto 40 technology and Infinity Skin 2 lining providing
maximum freedom of movement to open water swimmers. The lining also contains bamboo fibers
which provide more flexibility and reduce odor, preventing the growth of bacteria. The Nano Ice SCS
coating increases hydrodynamics, reducing water resistance and increasing speed with each stroke. The
combination of all three technologies gives the athlete total freedom of movement in the shoulder area, as
the neoprene can be stretched with 72% less force. - 39 FS - Elasticity, maximum flexibility and total freedom of movement are brought together thanks to the
combination of Yamamoto 39 neoprene, Infinity Skin 2 lining and Smoothskin surface finish. With this
combination, the open water swimmer will use 35% less force in fast movements and short strokes, while
slower, wider movements will require 45% less force than with any other conventional wetsuit. - 39 + - Yamamoto 39 neoprene is combined with the high-elasticity Infinity Skin 2 lining and SCS surface coating.
The smooth finish acheived with the SCS coating reduces resistance and friction in the water, improving
hydrodynamics and increasing speed.
Additional Features:
- Exo-Lift - Exo-lift is a sandwich-like construction, which combines an exterior neoprene layer treated with a
hydrodynamic Nano Ice SCS coating, Aerodome technology, and a third specially treated interior neoprene
layer. This combination provides 30% more buoyancy to the swimmer than a conventional wetsuit, and 0%
water absorption. A little boost to help you maintain a hydrodynamic position at all times, even when you’re
tired. - Aerodome
- Hydrolite - The compressive properties of Hydrolite technology improve the wetsuits’s seal in areas where water
may be able to enter, such as the neck, improving the wetsuit’s overall thermal insulation. - High Elbow Panel - High Elbow Panel technology, a panel of high-buoyancy material, helps to keep the elbow elevated during the
stroke, improving body positioning in the water. After numerous biomechanical studies aimed at improving
stability, this panel has been strategically placed to provide support without limiting flexibility. - Feel the Water - The Feel The Water (FTW) panel uses 0.88 Free technology to increase tactile sensitivity in the forearm. This helps the swimmer execute a more effective swim stroke and maintain proper form.
- Core Lateral Stabilizer - Core Lateral Stabilizer greatly improves body position, profile and, subsequently, speed.
- Ultimate Seal Collar - Laser cutting in the neck area combined with the Hydrolite inner lining allows the wetsuit to seal to the body and prevents chafing. This combination and seal prevent water from flowing inside the suit, improving both thermal insulation and hydrodynamics for the swimmer.
- YKK 8 - The YKK 8 zipper is smaller in width than standard zippers. The reduced width allows for increased
flexibility of the back panel and further limits water entry.
